Early looptail with soft original anodize and Z-Rims
A looptail Ripper that raced, survived, and never got 'improved'. The anodize has gone soft in the way collectors chase and restorers can't fake, and the Z-Rims are crack-free — checked hub to hoop.
Serial dates it early '81. The number plate came with the bike from the original owner's garage in Chula Vista, which is about as Southern California as provenance gets.
Bidding on this one has been spirited from the opening hour — reserve met and moving.
Chula Vista garage find. Of course it is. GLWA.
Checked again under raking light this morning. Nothing. This wheelset lived indoors.
Z-Rims crack at the spoke holes — the hub-to-hoop check in the story is exactly right. These look clean.
